WHO WE ARE
Scotian Backcountry - Delivery and Marine Services is a family run business located on beautiful Lake Charlotte, Nova Scotia. A Veteran owned business, we specialize in remote access property delivery and offer marine and small engine services.
After returning from patrol in the Canadian Arctic in 2021, a simple drawing was made on a napkin. It had an Argo driving off the front loading gate of a landing craft,- clearly inspired by our experience operating the RCNs Landing Craft, and love of 8x8 amphibious vehicles. Traveling through Atlantic Canada, we encountered endless remote islands, wilderness and coast line. With many of these places having camps & cottages on them, we asked ourselves...how do they get the big stuff there? The answer was "not easily". We wanted to help change that, and Scotian Backcountry was born. Whether it be by landing craft, 8X8 or truck and trailer, we are ready to help you get what you need - where you need it.
HOW IT BEGAN
OFFERING MORE...
With 18+ years in the marine industry, we wanted to offer services to more than just our delivery customers. With experience in small engine, pleasure craft and ship repair, we are proud to offer repair and maintenance services on the Eastern Shore and in HRM. Drop-off or Mobile Services are available, as well as Local on-water emergency calls. We even offer remote access repair calls by boat!
WHY "SCOTIAN" BACKCOUNTRY?
What's in a name? Besides the obvious part of our business being located in Nova Scotia, it goes deeper. The face of our company - found on our logo - is our Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. His name? Scotia! This tiny 2 foot fluff ball can be found most days around the shop or getting into trouble down at the lake. His official position within the company is Chief Morale Officer, although most days he thinks he is the Captain of Voyageur.
